Futura Mission Statement
The Futura Futbol Club's mission is to provide an exceptional youth soccer training experience in a professional and fun environment. Players will focus on individual skills improvement and the benefits of team play, while developing a consistent commitment to pursuing excellence through soccer.
Futura is committed to maintaining its reputation as a leader in youth soccer training in the Kansas City area. The Club prepares players for high school, intercollegiate and future professional soccer opportunities, while developing important life skills including character, persistence, discipline and teamwork.
Futura Futbol Club - History
Long-time soccer player & coach Todd Logan, of Liberty, Missouri, founded the Futura Futbol Club in 1992. Logan, still the Club President saw the need for soccer instruction focused on individual technical development, teamwork and a commitment to excellence.
The club consists of more than 475 youth soccer players in the Kansas City metro area ranging in age from 4 to 18. Programs such as the Kick Start Academy for young children, Speed and Agility Training Camps, and strategic partnerships with Adidas and The Kansas City Wizards are continuing to strengthen our opportunities to teach and motivate committed young soccer players. Future plans include the purchase of land for training fields and even an indoor training facility located in the Northland.

Playing Time
Futura teams play in both indoor and outdoor leagues, and coaches use these league games to evaluate talent and work on team concepts in preparation for tournaments. Efforts will be made to provide all players with equal playing time during league games. However, coaches can reduce playing times below the guidelines for reasons such as missing or disrupting practices, being late to practice, not notifying coaches in advance regarding absences from practices or games, being absent for more than one week from practices and games, or not following coach directions.
Futura teams actively seek tournament play opportunities including the pinnacle of Missouri state soccer, the Snickers State Cup, as a way to measure individual player and team skills against other similarly talented teams. These tournaments are also great ways to maximize touches on the ball, emphasize winning over defeat, and teach sportsmanship. Tournament playing time may not be equal due to a club commitment to master these challenges. The coaches will decide, in the context of the tournament game, which players will play and for how long. Coaches will take into consideration the strength of the opposing team, the importance of the game, the relative strengths of the players, and the players' attendance and dedication at practice and games. If a parent feels he or she must discuss playing time with the manager or coach, this must be done at a scheduled meeting so that everyone has time to think clearly about the child's needs and the team's situation.
Commitment
When a player and his/her family accept an invitation to be part of a Futura Futbol Club team, they are making a serious commitment to their team. Each team counts on all their players to practice and compete with enthusiasm; a player, who doesn't fulfill his/her commitment, lets down his/her team. Practices and tournaments are mandatory. If a player must miss a practice because of another commitment or an illness, he/she must notify the team manager or coach. If a player knows in advance that he/she cannot attend a tournament, he/she must notify the team manager or coach as soon as possible so that the team can find a substitute player. The only reasonable last-minute excuse for missing a tournament is illness/injury of the player, or a family emergency. If a player is late for practices or misses practices, his/her playing-time during games may be decreased. If a pattern of absences from practices and tournaments develops, a player can be removed from his/her team.
Each team also requires a financial commitment to pay for training and tournaments. Families are expected to stay up-to-date on their payments. If a family cannot afford the team fees, they can discuss scholarship options with the team manager.
Club Uniform
Futura Futbol Club will have a “club uniform.” that has been approved by the board. The “Official” club colors are white, black, heather gray, and royal blue. The “club uniform” will include a primary and a secondary jersey, shorts and socks.
For teams playing U8 and younger, teams may choose a Futura T-shirt jersey in any of the four primary colors provided by the Futura Club.
For teams playing U9 and older, the primary uniform will be an Adidas Mundial in white. The secondary jersey should be either the same Mundial jersey in royal blue, or a t-shirt jersey in royal blue.
All uniforms must be purchased through the Futura Club and from an approved Futura vendor. No other uniform may be worn.
